Description
It was a year ago this week the epic, record-breaking winter storm Knife swept through Buffalo and dropped close to EIGHT feet of snow. Communities in southern areas of the city were trapped or stranded by the rare, yet undeniably over-whelming lake effect powerhouse. This week, I take a look back at the stunning visuals and sheer snowy carnage that blanketed Lake Erie and Western New York.
Fortunately, I happened to be in the north towns during the storm and made it down to the Erie Basin Marina with my camera equipment to capture what I felt was definitely a National Geographic Moment. Strong winds, severe wind chills and the spray from crashing waves along the breakwall made it challenging, but in the end, the shots I managed to get were very gratifying.
